FAQS
Here are a few frequently asked questions to browse through. Hopefully these might answer some questions you might have.
Are false lashes included in your services?
All makeup services includes complimentary/optional false lash
When should I come in for a consultation (hair/makeup trial)?
I recommend coming in after you’ve decided on your wedding details – color theme, décor, and feel of the day. If you’ve already secured a wedding date, the consultation should be about 1-3 months before your big day. Please also note, bridal trials are only scheduled from Monday through Thursday with weekends left solely dedicated to weddings.
I’m having a destination wedding in London. How/when should I schedule a consultation with you?
Many choose London as their wedding destination spot. If you have any upcoming travel arrangements before the wedding we can arrange the best time to meet then. However, if that doesn’t seem to match up, I am more than happy to meet the day (or few days) before the wedding – schedule permitting – for your consultation. Some brides even schedule their consultation the afternoon before a wedding rehearsal.
What happens after I contact you?
I will first make sure I am available for your wedding :) Then we will figure out the best time to schedule your consultation. You will soon know at the consultation whether or not I am the right bridal makeup and hair artist for your wedding. We will then sort out all the logistics regarding pricing and timing for your big day.
What is the booking process like? Is a retainer fee required?
Many clients usually prefer to wait until the consultation before formally booking my services for their wedding. Scheduling a consultation alone itself does not guarantee my availability for your event date. A signed contract and the non-refundable, non-transferable retainer fee are required to officially reserve the date the services are required.
Do you travel on-site?
I absolutely do travel! I pride my business on being 100% mobile. It not only is easier for me, but also for my brides and their bridal party. Most – if not all – of my clients actually prefer to get ready at their venue, or at their home. This not only helps my client stay calm but also because they are most comfortable. My ideal work space has ample natural lighting, a large table or counter space (to lay out the essential tools of the day) and easy access to electrical outlets. There is no travel expense for weddings within London. Outside of London it is £50 all round travel cover.
Do you do destination weddings?
Yes! A destination wedding is anywhere outside of my Southern England territory. Additional fees relating to flight & transportation, lodging, per diems will apply for any and all destination weddings.
What if someone else is interested in the same date? What’s the policy like?
It is becoming more common place that I receive inquiries that fall on the same day. Bookings are a first come, first serve basis meaning, the first client who sends the retainers fee and signed contract is booked for the date. I highly recommend booking at least 6 months to avoid competing with other brides for the same date & time. Availability may change at any time without prior notice, so if you are interested, I would recommend securing your date as soon as you feel comfortable.
Do you ever do multiple events in a day?
Although I’d love to do as many weddings as possible in one day, unfortunately I personally limit myself to 1 wedding a day.
When is the remaining payment due?
The remainder of your payment can be paid on the day of the event. If multiple payments from multiple people will be made, please gather all monies and place it in an envelope to be given at the end of the makeup application. It can get awkward with different people paying separately at different times.
What do I need to bring for the consultation or how should I prepare for the consultation?
Please bring with you (or email in advance) any inspiration photos of hair and/or makeup. Please arrive with a fresh, clean face, and clean & completely dry hair for their appointment. If possible, wearing a white top with the neckline that mimics the cut of your gown gives you a better idea of how the hair & makeup will work with your dress. Any accessories you plan to wear on the day of is recommended as well.
What about the skincare and supplements?
To properly customise a look based on your skin condition, type and sensitivities. We go over your skin type and any issues you may be experiencing. I will advice on products to use before your big day as well as supplements that *may increase results. While I only use high-quality products, there are also safety concerns with allergies to products. Unfortunately many cosmetics contain ingredients that people might be allergic to.
*Belle Femme Bridal takes no medical responsibility nor legal liability, please consult with your doctor before taking any supplements and if you feel unwell 24hrs after then stop taking the supplements
Do you take before & after photos?
Yes, I do this so you have an idea of how your makeup and hair will be for the big day. I also use the photos as reference for face chart I draw for all my bridal clients that details the products used at our consultation and product placement. This not only gives you an idea of what we are doing for your big day, but also keeps the look fresh in my mind for your big day (especially if you schedule your consultation a few months before you wedding day).
Why do you request information about Day-of Scheduling of my wedding day?
To make sure you are completely ready by the time you need. It is essential to plan sufficient enough time for hair and makeup during an already jam packed day. If you have a wedding planner, I could work out the schedule with your planner.
How long does the service typically take?
A makeup trial takes anywhere from 1-1.5 hours, while a hair and makeup consultation can take 2-3 hrs.
On the day I schedule about 60 mins per each service. On your wedding day, I will arrive 15-30 minutes before our first appointment to set-up. Additionally, we will need 15-20 minutes afterwards to pack-up and leave.
